Transforming Cube

The evolution of a closed wooden block to an exploded figure aims to capture the body movements involved with the action of working on a laptop. The goal of this project was to create a dynamic figure from a square block of wood. The movement begins with the rotation of the hand to open the screen, materialized in the first rotation of the block, and the movements that follow are the horizontal motions involved with typing and using a trackpad mouse. The block becomes dynamic as it unfolds, mimicking the action of a daily routine. The diagrams explore the exploded elevations, abstracted depictions of movement, and axon representation of the cube.
